Bobby Pontillas
Bobby Pontillas
Filipino-American director and artist who has worked in the animation and games industries as an animator, character designer, art director, and director for such studios as Disney, Taiko, Blue Sky, ArenaNet and more. An Academy Award nominated director for the animated short film, “One Small Step”, Bobby is currently developing animated projects for the Disney Channel and Disney Plus.
Nathan Cayanan
Nathan Cayanan
Filipino-American writer, illustrator, and college professor based in Los Angeles, who wrote and illustrated the graphic novel Suspicious Activity. He is also the co-creator of the sci-fi series Stellar Remnant.
A DC Comics Milestone Initiative alum (2022), he has written official stories for DC Comics featuring characters such as Icon and Dr. Light.

When you leave the page understanding yourself more, understanding something that confused you more, that becomes sustainable. That becomes valuable for your life in general. And that’s why I think you should write. I think it’s–as cheesy as it sounded–it’s for yourself first and then it’s for others.
Bobby and I are third culture kids. We grew up Filipino, but not from the Philippines. Caught between worlds. And for a long time that in-between feeling was something we didn’t know what to do with. But through a lot of conversations and mis-steps we found a story we both wanted to tell.
